For wheelchair accessibility:
There is a ramp entrance to Helios from the parking lot off of rue Louis Cyr. Unfortunately this door is kept locked for security reasons
If you are coming with an abled friend who knows the building, have your friend come through the front door on rue Saint Ferdinand and open the back door for you. If your friend does not know the building have them come to Helios and ask for assistance from a volunteer.
If you are coming without a friend please email email@example.com in advance to make arrangements so that we can meet you to unlock the door.
There is an all-gender washroom within the workshop unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible.
There are wheelchair accessible bathrooms (segregated by gender) at the back of the building by the garbage and recycling. All level changes between Helios and these washrooms are ramped.
Helios is located in a multi-use industrial building and we are unfortunately unable to control the scents or fumes. We continue to work on the ventilation of our work space but cannot guarantee a scent free environment.
As a workshop with heavy machinery, Helios is often a loud environment. We sell earplugs for $1. You may also contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to inquire about using the shop during less busy hours.
American Sign Language (ASL) and Braille:
At this time Helios does not have any volunteers who use or can translate ASL or Braille.
We would love to hear from you if you have feedback about how we can become a more accessible space.
